SHELTER joins the discussion at RURITAGE's Rural Connections webinar "Disaster risk reduction for resilience"

Last 15th of November 2021, the SHELTER project has been presented in RURITAGE webinar on "Disaster risk reduction for resilience", through the experience and expected outcomes of the Baixa-Lima (Galicia) Open Lab in the management of forest fires.





The experience of the Baixa-Lima (Galicia) Open Lab in terms of risk management and the built of resilience is highly conditioned by the rural context. The already existing legal and planning framework provides a robust context to coordinate activities at different scales and from different stakeholders.

Nevertheless, the Open Lab is facing some challenges related with not only climate change but also other social-cultural and economic drivers that are under consideration to identify the gaps that can be covered by the SHELTER tools in the different phases of the risk management.
